Sculpture
"Creating a study in clay is intuitive – squeezing globs of warm clay onto a wire armature…shaping, pushing, scraping with rough fingers…
Working predominantly with bronze, John Stacy’s sculptures are focused on wildlife. He often creates the animals found directly outside his window...everything from bear, bison, and bighorn sheep to wolves, mountain lions, and lynx. Using a variety of patinas and a concentration on texture and motion, the bronzes speak of wilderness. Visitors to Elk River Art will be greeted by his life-size bronze eagle sculpture outside.
